Private Training

Why Private Training?

Parents and players are increasingly seeking structured programs where professional coaches can foster skill development and bring valuable insights and mentorship to athletes from a young age. Nearly all elite-level players participate in some form of supplemental training in addition to their club team training as certain elements of development can be practically impossible to successfully coach in your typical team environment due to inadequate numbers of reps and insufficient time for personal attention. Private training offers a personalized learning environment where athletes receive the direct interaction, high quantity and quality of repetitions, and immediate feedback that are crucial for refinement across various disciplines.
Our private training is a structured and systematic process that focuses on developing field players’ technical, tactical, physical, and psychological skills to enhance their overall performance in the sport.

Technical

This includes skills and mechanics related to ball mastery and creativity, dribbling, first touch & ball control, passing & receiving, shielding, turning, shooting & finishing, volleys & clearances, heading, and defensive techniques.

Tactical

This entails developing the understanding and application of tactical concepts like anticipation, decision making, vision, game awareness, movement off the ball, and positioning, and how they fit into the collective picture of attacking and defensive strategies.

Physical

Training sessions incorporate coordination, explosiveness, agility, acceleration & deceleration, strength conditioning, balance, and endurance-building exercises to promote injury prevention and optimize players’ physical fitness.

Psychological

Mental strength and life skills such as concentration, teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and mental toughness are layered throughout training to enhance individual development on and off the field.
Each session has a specific focus that will start at the foundational level and progressively work toward a bigger picture with more complex patterns. The priority for our youngest trainees is developing coordination and overall skill and comfort on the ball. As players advance, the execution of technique under pressure will prevail. Older trainees, especially college and professional players, may target position-specific needs and distinct areas of improvement. Regardless of age, position, or skill level, technical mastery will always be at the center of our attention.

Our training can be done individually (1-on-1), in pairs, or in groups of 3-4; a blend of different session types will allow you to experience all their benefits. We recommend starting with some individual sessions to familiarize yourself with our core skills and training flow, and then pairing or grouping up for a longer-term routine. In this scenario, players will often add in individual sessions as needed to sharpen up on specific things that may require more work and attention.

Benefits of Training Individually:

  • Provides the most repetitions and touches, which often results in a higher intensity and workload
  • Sessions can be tailored more specifically for player needs and all feedback is directed at you
  • Allows you to prioritize certain skills and techniques that need more attention
  • Can be beneficial for certain learning styles
  • Can be more flexible with scheduling

Benefits of Training in Pairs or Groups:

  • Provides social interaction and connectedness
  • Introduces a natural aspect of competitiveness that increases intensity, motivation, and adds element of pressure
  • Helps teammates build better chemistry and relationships
  • Allows you to work on numerous soccer concepts that require the interaction of multiple players
  • Lower cost per player can make training more consistent and sustainable
If pairs or groups are desired, these should be pre-selected by you. We highly recommend that players working together are fairly similar in age, and, more importantly, technical ability. We may also be able to find suitable training partners for you, but availability is not guaranteed.

*Training is recorded and clips will be shared with players/families following each session. Players can then learn from watching their own technique, reference things to work on at home, and even create highlight reels. This also allows us to study and break down actions, point out details and examples to players, and provide better feedback for your next training.

For our most personalized and comprehensive developmental experience, consider pairing training with our individual game analysis.
